Our next Weeknight Workshop, Introduction to Storyboarding, will be held in collaboration with the Trinidad and Tobago Animation Network, TTAN, and facilitated by Nicholas Maxwell. The workshop will explore why storyboards are useful and how a director can most effectively work with a storyboard artist, as well as cover basic steps to storyboarding.

A storyboard provides a shot by shot graphic representation of events as they are to be seen through the camera lens. It’s similar to a trial-run for your finished film, video, or commercial; a visual aid which makes it easier for directors to share and explain their vision to the production team, investors and funders, etc.

Says Director George Miller about storyboarding ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’: “There’s a huge amount of information with storyboards. You know where the actor is sitting or standing, where the camera will be, the events happening in that storyboard…”

This workshop will be useful to directors, producers, cinematographers/ DPs, student filmmakers, graphic artists and animators. (Note, this will be a general, introductory workshop.)

Tickets are available in advance, from the FILMCO office (open Monday-Friday, 9:30am-6pm). Please call us for further information: 1 (868) 323-3228.
