Based at our office in Belmont Port of Spain (with the flexibility for some remote working) and reporting to the Executive Director, the Social Media Coordinator works in a deadline-driven environment as part of our Marketing team. We are looking for a creative and proactive candidate to take full responsibility for FILMCO and trinidad+tobago film festival social media channels, making them the best they can be. The role involves coordinating content across all social channels, so excellent writing, proofing, copy-editing and organisational skills are essential. Working closely with many departments – including Education, Distribution, Programming and Design – the Social Media Coordinator contributes to both operational and administrative tasks as well as researching, producing and posting content.

Social Media Coordinator DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Planning and management of the social content calendar across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube
  • Updating social calendars and scheduling social content
  • Collaborating with necessary departments to create compelling and effective content for social channels
  • Oversee day-to-day community management for FILMCO and ttff’s social channels
  • Monitor comments, likes and messages on allocated social media accounts; reply to queries promptly and politely or pass them onto relevant team members to handle
  • Weekly and monthly analysis of performance of all content, across all platforms; sharing findings with the wider team for planning and decision-making
  • Supporting the Executive Director in delivering the strategy for the channels
  • Adhere to the to the company brands and tone of voice guidelines, content creation workflow and corporate governance to ensure all content is approved by key stakeholders as necessary
  • Source and coordinate visual assets for social channels
  • Work with Executive Director to develop and plan social content around campaigns
  • Pinpoint and assist coordinating paid social media activity for selected campaigns
  • Updating listings and catalogues on existing and new social channels such as Instagram and Facebook shopping
  • Monitor competitor landscape, market changes, and developments; remain current on emerging industry/digital trends and listening tools/applications
  • Management of platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube
  • Lead campaign planning, including the social plan to support new initiatives
  • Create quality content and proofread any copy that needs reviewing
  • Apply necessary tracking links to all social activity for ease of analysis
  • Assist with the day-to-day administration tasks
  • Conduct detailed competitor analysis reports
  • This role could require occasional out of hours work as-and-when the business requires

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

  • At least two years’ experience in a similar role for a creative company
  • Understanding of digital and social media best practices, metrics and analytics
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced working environment with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills with ability to simplify messaging and tell a compelling and engaging story
  • Proactive approach to identifying and researching compelling digital content
  • Working knowledge of MacOS, Canva, YouTube Studio and WordPress
  • Excellent knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and TikTok
  • Working knowledge of Facebook advertising best practices and targeting
  • Experience using Premiere or similar video editing software
  • Spanish or French language skills desirable
  • Preferably Bachelor’s degree level, in film or film studies preferred
  • Knowledge of and passion for the development of the Caribbean film/ television industry
