FILMCO Info Session: Understanding IP
—Published on 14th Aug, 2020.
IP– two letters whose significance should never be underestimated by creators for their work.
Intellectual Property, or IP as we’ve come to know it, is a critical part of the creative process and filmmakers today must have a solid understanding of it.
According to the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) in the Ministry of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs, IP “…refers to the expressed creation of the human mind.” On Tuesday August 25th, FILMCO will present another episode in our Info Session series focusing on the topic of IP for the benefit of members of our audio-visual community.
Topics will cover a definition of IP; the types of Intellectual Property; copyright; licenses, and financing for film in addition to others. Presented by Kavish Seetahal of the IPO in the Ministry of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs, this critical FILMCO Info Session will enable filmmakers to understand and work with Intellectual Property.
